Archangelus Burgonovo : ウィキペディア英語版 | Archangelus Burgonovo Archangelus Burgonov was an Italian friar, Hebraist and cabalist, who flourished mid 16th century.〔 The Major works of Sir Thomas Browne edited by C.A.Patrides Penguin 1977 〕 Little is known of him other than as the author of an apology in defense of the Kabbalah whose full title reads - ''Apologia fratis Achangeli de Burgonovo pro defensione doctrinae Cabalae contra Rev D. Petrum Garziam Mirandulam impugnantem et conclusiones cabalisticae LXXI secundam opinionem propriam ejusdem Mirandulae ex ipis Hebraeorum sapeentum fundamenti Christianum religionem '' which translated reads as- 'The apology of brother Archangulus of Burgonovo in defense of cabalistic doctrines against Rev. Peter Garzia’s attack on Pico della Mirandola from Hebrew wisdom, source of the Christian religion'. It was first published in Basel (1560) and Bologna (1564) and alluded to in Johann Pistorius’s ''Artis cabalisticae scriptores'' (Basel 1587).
